Tibet Update: A Message from Ven. Dhyani Ywahoo
During these times of confusion we hold all beings with compassion; with attention to differing views and actions that affect civil liberties. It is very clear that the Tibetan community has been under a very heavy hand; besieged with an introduced population change. This unique Tibetan community is a resource for the planet for present and future times. Through the skillful means of Vajra Guru may all appearance of discord resolved into awakened skillful action.
Thanks Khenmo

Public Meditation is held Sundays 9:30 - 10:30 am.

Tibetan Arts
July 11-13

Calling All Artists and Volunteers
Artists always gather to decorate the monastery and create the many paintings and offerings to make the Dharma come alive. In preparation for the many events we will offer at Vajra Dakini, we wish to create a special door to the nunnery and add the colorful designs to the stupa. A stupa represents the mind of the Buddha! Any work done for it brings limitless blessings. Artists, crafts people and volunteers who wish to learn about the Tibetan art tradition are welcome to camp at the Peace Village nearby, join in morning meditation and help with the painting and sculpture. We will cook together, laugh and beautify the nunnery.

In Buddhism we aspire to be like the great hearted bodhisattvas who vow to assist all beings out of suffering for as long as time and space exist. We are all capable of expanding our hearts to this level of commitment. Using "A Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way Of Life" we will learn how to widen our compassion for others. This text is considered a manual for awakening the Great Heart. For centuries, all monasteries have relied on this text to teach compassion. It is one of the great pieces of literature and as fresh today with pith advice as it was long ago. It is appropriate for all traditions, faiths and levels of experience.

You will learn
  • How to train your mind to see all whom you meet as beloved.
  • How to practice compassion on and off the cushion.
