Historic Firsts for Women

This is a new moment in history.

For the first time a realized woman teacher, Pema Sangzin Khandro, also known as Ven. Dhyani Ywahoo, is founding a nuns community with a female abbess, Khenmo Drolma.

She is considered an emanation of Yeshe Tsogyal, the 8th century female Buddha. Yeshe Tsogyal has been present in every era but her teachings have not survived.Pema Sangzin Khandro, recognized by the Great Tibetan teachers as her emanation, will revive this ancient lineage to benefit all.

Buddhism is a lived experience in which wisdom and compassion are the highest values. Although motherhood is considered the greatest example of compassion, the teaching of mothers and feminine wisdom have not been recorded.
  • Women are educated and literate
  • We recognize the full spiritual authority and capabilities of women
  • Women are in control of their own resources and can create a safe place dedicated to practicing and preserving feminine wisdom.
